The statistics from the Old Spice campaign in the US tell the story. P&G was having great success with a new ad campaign promoting Old Spice aftershave, featuring super-cool, American football legend Isaiah Mustafa. The campaign sees Isaiah move seamlessly from his bathroom, to a boat and onto a horse within 40 seconds http://tiny.cc/o3mka as he attempts to persuade American men to stop borrowing their partner’s flowery fragrant shower gel and be a proper man by using Old Spice. This advert was aired during the American Superbowl on 7th February 2010. It soon achieved cult status and attracted 15 million views on YouTube.

Facebook for Business
Wednesday, May 13th, 2009I have recently been inundated with material regarding the use of social media for business marketing purposes, in particular Twitter and Facebook. However, it appears to be a well guarded secret that Facebook has a dedicated business section under http://facebook.com/business.
Would be interested to hear your opinions regarding using social media in business.
Focus On Sales
Tuesday, April 21st, 2009According to the latest Grant Thornton Entrepreneurial Insight survey 93.5% of UK entrepreneurial businesses cited increasing sales as one of the key areas currently under discussion and this was overwhelmingly the single biggest issue with 43.5% of respondents placing it at the top of their agenda.
What is of interest to me is how many business also include improving sales strategies, efficiencies, routes to market and sales processes as key areas for improvement to support this focus. Clearly the two go hand in hand.
Improving Sales
Thursday, April 9th, 2009In a tough economic climate, more and more management effort is spent contacting customers and prospecting when in fact, this is the time strategise to get ahead of the game in readiness for the eventual upturn.
Regular customer communication is a necessity for all businesses regardless of how well they may be performing. This isn’t a problem with the highly active core of your customer base but maintaining awareness of your business profile with the less frequent buyers can be time consuming and is often neglected until it is too late.
These challenges can be addressed with Amplify Voice, a fully automated mashup e-newsletter service. Online feeds such as RSS, Blogs and ATOM as well as your own free text, links and imagery can be combined on a branded template and distributed to your business contacts.
Not only do your customers remain fully aware of you as a supplier and specialist but are provided with a constantly fresh newsletter which is factual and relevent to their interests.
The Cost of Document Searches
Monday, April 6th, 2009Recent surveys indicate that employees, both staff and directors, waste up to 30 minutes per day searching for documents in e-mails or folders. This equates to a man day of effort lost per day in the average small/medium business.
This could be very easily avoiding with the use of Microsoft Sharepoint which provides online collaboration through the use of portals allowing both documents and knowledge (blogs, wikis, MySites) to be shared in a secure environment.
Rather than exchanging documentation in e-mails, documents placed on the portal are immediately available and centrally stored for future reference saving countless hours spent searching and retrieving documents.
The CRM Generation
Thursday, March 19th, 2009Is it my impression but more and more people are understanding what CRM is all about. Amplify delivers this through an easy to use way.
