Course Overview
This one day course introduces the
Java programmer to the essential
components of CodeGear’s™ new
JBuilder 2007. The goal is to focus
Enterprise Java Developers on the
key aspects of JBuilder 2007 to help
you develop the skills necessary to
quickly design, build, test and
deploy Java applications.
What will I learn?
JBuilder 2007 Essentials 1 is a
one-day course to assist those who
are new to JBuilder 2007 but who
have experience with Java
development. The goal of this course
is to provide the student with a
strong foundation on the use of
JBuilder to develop software using
the Java programming language and
tools.
JBuilder and Java concepts covered:
JBuilder IDE, projects, workspaces,
Team Assist, EJB Development and EJB
Modeling concepts. Concepts are
taught through instructor-led
exercises and individual lab
exercises.
Course Style
This course is hands-on with practical exercises throughout. We provide you with individual PC’s so that you are able to work alone. Class sizes are kept small so that you will receive personal attention. You will take away extensive printed course material, which will be of on going use to you in your work

will also cover the installation of
the IDE.
Eclipse, Workspaces and Projects
Introduction to JBuilder 2007
features, including Eclipse
Workbench, workspace structures,
projects and introduces
configuration of the environment.
Migrating to JBuilder 2007
How to migrate JBuilder 2005/2006
projects to JBuilder 2007. Covering
both the migration of JSE and JEE
projects to JBuilder 2007.
TeamAssist
How to configure Team Assist. Key
features of the different Team
Assist features and roll-out in a
development environment.
Introduction to EJB
Introduces both Java Enterprise
Edition (JEE) and the EJB Component
Model. Describes the core elements
of EJB 2.x and 3.x development.
EJB Development Using JBuilder
Concentrates on the JBuilder
Modeling Perspective and it’s use to
design, develop, deploy and test
Enterprise Java Beans components.
Includes JBuilder features such as
XDoclet for targeting appropriate
Server environments.
Prerequisites
The students must be familiar with object-oriented principles and the concept of object-oriented programming
