Silk Test - Verification Testing


Course Overview
A comprehensive introduction to the powerful capabilities of SilkTest. Students learn how to organize and manage verification tests using the test planning tool. Use SilkTest recorders to transition from manual to automatic testing. Utilize SilkTest’s 4Test scripting language for verification testing and enhance test case functionality using branching and looping statements.

Who should attend?
QA project leaders and testers, analysts, engineers and supervisors who need to develop a working knowledge of our testing methodology and recorders to test web or client-server applications.

What will I learn?
By the end of the course, the attendee will be able to:
 

  • Organize and manage verification tests using the test planning tool

  • Create a frame file with window declarations which serves as the central repository for information about the application under test.

  • Apply a variety of techniques used in QA testing

  • Create reports to chart the testing effort

  • Use variable within test cases to increase reusability and maintainability

  • Branch test execution or repeat an operation until a condition is met within a test

  • Create functions to perform repeated or complex actions

  • Drive tests with data stored in test plans, files and databases 

Course Style
This course is hands-on with practical exercises throughout. We provide you with individual PC’s so that you are able to work alone. Class sizes are kept small so that you will receive personal attention. You will take away extensive printed course material, which will be of on going use to you in your work.
