Money Spinners

Chris Read participates in Money Spinners East to West coast 8-day Bike Ride Challenge for Macmillan Cancer

Chris Read, cycling enthusiast and chairman of pensions and investment administration software provider Dunstan Thomas, is taking part in the 585-mile, 8-day ‘Money Spinners’ sponsored bike ride from the East coast of England to the West coast of Ireland. The ride has a declared target of raising £100,000 for Macmillan Cancer Support.

Money Spinners was set up a year ago by the former managing director of Allied Dunbar and J Rothschild Assurance and more recently, chief executive of Inter Alliance, Keith Carby. The fundraising organisation called Money Spinners, focuses on raising funds for identified charities through support from organisations linked to the financial services industry. It runs at least one major sponsored bike ride each year.

Chris Read is part of a group of 19 cyclists who will be making the gruelling journey from Lowestoft on the coast of East Anglia to Dingle Bay on the west coast of Ireland, starting out from Lowestoft at 9.00AM on Saturday 4th September. The team will average 73 miles per day and participants are likely to be in the saddle for more than seven hours every day of the ordeal.
